ScienceLogic joins the select group of vendors certified by Dell to integrate seamlessly with Dell™ OpenManage™ systems management functionality. Out of the box, EM7 Meta-Appliances deliver a comprehensive and proactive monitoring solution to keep Dell systems up and running optimally at all times.

It starts with EM7 Dynamic Discovery - functionality that goes beyond basic auto-discovery to automatically create and update asset records and apply EM7 Dynamic Applications, monitoring policies that incorporate Dell's own best practices for Dell server management. EM7 provides a single console with detailed and consolidated views of configuration data, system health and performance trends to assist administrators with their Dell server management at scale.

Key Features:

  • EM7 Dynamic Discovery:
No need for administrators to configure Dell OpenManage on each server to report to a master console - EM7 acts as the master console out-of-the-box.
  • EM7 Dynamic Applications for Dell OpenManage:
Best-practices based monitoring templates automatically applied to Dell servers upon Dynamic Discovery. Easily customized by administrators.
  • Auto-population of Dell Hardware Asset Records:
Centralized view of asset information automatically created and updated during Dynamic Discovery. Asset information may also be entered manually, and custom asset fields (for manual or automated entry) can be easily added by administrators.
  • Automated Change Detection:
Change detection features automatically trigger and event upon any changes to system attributes such as BIOS version, memory, global version of Dell OpenManage, Firmware version or Base board version for easy version control across all Dell systems. Easily customized by administrators.
  • Integrated Performance Monitoring:
Real-time and historical reporting of system resources - CPU, physical and virtual memory, file systems, disk utilization, interface utilization, interface errors and discards, availability and latency
  • Extensive Visualization of Dell Systems :
Single pane of glass view for overall Dell systems health and availability. Detailed device-specific views for troubleshooting purposes.
  • Detailed Eventing:
Component level and location included in event messages for faster troubleshooting and remediation. Automatic events can be triggered by service/warranty expiration, out-of-date driver versions, hard drive failures, chassis intrusion, unplugged redundant power supply, etc.
  • Real-time events:
Traps and Windows event logs handling
  • Extensive Reporting:
Real-time and historical reporting for configuration, change, service and warranty expirations, performance trending and more
  • Integration with Dell OpenManage Server Administrator (OMSA):
