EM7 includes a full-featured event (or incident) management application that is pre-integrated with the other EM7 applications covering network monitoring, service level management, ticketing and more. The EM7 management applications work together with shared data to provide automated and uninterrupted support for IT operations workflow.

EM7 monitors availability, security, hardware performance and application performance and generates events when irregularities occur - before they develop into expensive downtime, outages and degraded service levels. Customizable notification and escalation policies ensure that the right people get the right alerts at the right time.

  • Automated alerts:
    Events come pre-defined in EM7 based upon best practices and can be customized by system users. Event alerts are triggered by:

- "Manager of Managers" (MoM), syslog and trap messages

- Operations outside of defined security parameters

- Operations beyond default and/or user-defined performance thresholds, hardware thresholds, security thresholds

- User-defined change management incidents

  • Audible Notification of Events
  • Integration:
    The event management function provides one of the key points of integration with other monitoring and management solutions, including Microsoft MoM. Out of the box, EM7 can accept messages via SNMP, Syslog, SAPI, email and many pre-installed agents. These messages are de-duplicated and trigger alerts according to pre-set event definitions.
  • Notification & Escalation:
    EM7 Notification and Escalation policy editor allows users to define automatic notification policies specific to each event. Notify users groups for different events and severities. Notify them immediately or as part of an escalation path.
  • Workflow - One-Click Ticket Creation
    : From EM7's Event Viewer, users simply click on a Create Ticket tab to automatically turn a specific event into a system ticket that must be resolved. The system automatically pre-populates many ticket fields to streamline the process and improve information quality.
  • Event Correlation:
    EM7 provides the information and tools to help IT staff correlate events - enabling precise and accurate troubleshooting that saves hours of diagnostics.
