Letter from Dave

Picture of hand putting mail into mailboxLike most of the country, we're trying to stay cool this summer, but everywhere we go the heat is on. And that's not a bad thing!

We were very busy at Cisco Live in Vegas, showing EM7 as part of Cisco's new Physical Safety and Security Solution (see below) and talking to attendees about the variety of Cisco Solutions that EM7 monitors - from Cisco Networks to Network Services to User Services - all out of the box. So come and talk to us and find out what's new.

Beyond meeting hundreds of Cisco engineers, one of the inspiring moments during the show was John Chambers' fantastic keynote. In just over an hour, he captured our imagination with a spell-binding presentation that detailed Cisco's strategy and future (Cisco is pushing towards 50 new product adjacencies) while unveiling some really cool new products like the Cius business tablet that John demonstrated live at the show!

John also talked about how change makes us all uncomfortable - I think that change pressures all of us at ScienceLogic to envision the future of the market and figure out where it is going before popular trends force us there. That is easy for me to say, but sometimes so very hard to do! We continue working to build the speed and scale -- and with speed and scale we build flexibility. When all that works together, we can cookie-cut it with tremendous speed.

Speed / Scale / Flexibility / Replicate. Our goal is to meet your challenges head on and increase the productivity of your limited resources with new and advanced technologies that will ultimately help you drive business innovation. So stay tuned to ScienceLogic and EM7!

Now back to the air-conditioning (datacenter) to cool off!

Cheers,

Cisco Live - Feelin' Hot, Hot, Hot!

Cisco Live! BadgeWe had a hot time in Vegas! Before your mind wanders too far, the thermometer hit 108 and we spent lots of time talking with scores of attendees about how EM7 monitors a wide range of Cisco Solutions.

We were thrilled that the EM7 was shown in the main Cisco Solutions booth, powering the Cisco Management Appliance (MAP), providing fully integrated monitoring for the new Cisco Physical Safety and Security Solution. Being surrounded by like-minded Cisco folk was a perfect setting for us to discuss and show off the many best-practices monitoring templates for Cisco Solutions that are included in EM7.

Contact us for more information and check the blog for posts on selected keynotes and sessions from the show.

Other presentations, including findings on how cloud computing and virtualization are effecting the IT infrastructure of Global 2000 companies. Contact us today to learn how EM7 helps businesses with these types of IT initiatives. View presentations from the show.

(We tried to choose a winner between Geno's and Pat's, but after samplings our guys decided they need more data!)

Support Tip - Review Suppressions

Photo of lit light bulbYou set up the perfect suppression list (or it was set up by someone else). But things change and what was appropriate then, may need to change for today's environment.

To ensure nothing slips through the cracks, administrators should periodically review their suppressions list to see make sure events that should be alerted against are not inadvertently being suppressed. Remember, what's good today may change tomorrow.

To check, log in to the Customer Portal and navigate to Registry > Policies > Suppressions.
