Announcing EM7 Version 5

We're pleased to announce Version 5 of the EM7 IT Management Appliance. Whether delivered as an all-in-one appliance or in the distributed multi-appliance configuration, EM7 V5 marks a major milestone in the development of the product line and continues to raise the bar for IT operations management solutions.

IN EM7 V5:    Significant new functionality using the latest technologies for the customization and personalization of views
                      of discovered IT infrastructure, collected monitoring data and system metrics

  • Dashboards for highly customizable at-a-glance views of only what's important to each department or user
  • Network Topology Views using Flex technology for auto-updates without having to refresh browser views
  • Enhanced Toolbox for remote access to EM7 collectors (Distributed Configuration only)
  • Significant GUI/Usability Enhancements including time-saving shortcut keys and modal windows using Ajax to cut down on desktop clutter
  • New Graphing Engine for faster and more visually accurate representations of collected monitoring data

Version 5 will be available to new customers starting July 23, 2007.

The V5 upgrade will be available to existing customers via the EM7 support portal starting August 23, 2007. If you'd like to upgrade sooner, contact Customer Support, support@sciencelogic.com, or call ScienceLogic sales or your certified reseller.

To ensure a smooth transition to Version 5 for current customers, we will:

  1. Hold a live training webinar on August 3rd to cover new functionality and changes in the product and to answer any additional questions - free to customers. This webinar will be recorded and accessible on the EM7 Support Portal;

  2. Offer additional free training webinars on V5; and

  3. Begin to offer formalized training classes redesigned for V5 starting in August 2007.
