Announcing V5
EM7 Highlight
EM7 Tips
Who's doing it?
Hughes Network Systems - leading provider of broadband satellite networks and services with over 1.2 million systems shipped to customers in over 100 countries
How are they doing it?
Hughes has already built more than a dozen custom Dynamic Applications to collect very detailed information on their proprietary satellite network systems. They plan on using the new EM7 V5 Dashboard and Detach graph features to set up custom monitoring views that report on the performance and availability of their proprietary systems and satellite throughput, minute by minute.
Dashboards can be customized per user - to show metrics for all system availability or just the status of Window servers for Windows system administrators.
What functionality are they most excited about?
The ability to put 2 data points collected by their custom Dynamic Applications onto the same graph and display via the Dashboard View
What does it replace?
These new custom monitoring views will replace an existing HP OpenView report that they have had to shoehorn to do what the new EM7 Dashboard and Detachable graph features will accomplish.
"The ability and flexibility to quickly create up-to-the-minute traffic graphs through the EM7 GUI for monitoring our networks will save hours of labor normally required to customize the graphs for our purposes."
Dan Buckley, Systems Analyst, Hughes Network Systems
