Staff Accountant-Billing, Revenue and Credit

Reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Revenue, you will be responsible for assisting with sales order processing in financial systems, generating monthly billing for clients, handling account delinquencies and providing accounting support to the Client Services team. Our finance team is involved in every area of the business; therefore, you can expect exposure in new areas as you grow and work on ad-hoc projects as requested by your manager, as well as our executive management team.

The ideal person for this opportunity should have accounting experience in the software or technology industry, strong communication abilities, a problem-solver by nature, ability to work in a fast paced and ever-changing environment, and can multitask and prioritize competing requests effectively

What you’ll be doing …

  • Generate monthly billing for clients, including creation of manual events, input of contract billing information, selection of invoice sets, and creation and mailing of invoices
  • Research billing inquiries in system and contract, providing accounting support to Client Services team throughout the month
  • Ensure timely processing of Customer billings and adjustments (i.e. credits, etc.)
  • Participate with the implementation of revenue related accounting policies and procedures
  • Review and analyze monthly billing trends and variances
  • Work on ad hoc projects as assigned by the Senior Manager of Revenue.
  • Administer Customer credit program, including investigation of credit risk and customer collections.

Qualities you possess …

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance.
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience preferably in software or technology field
  • Good knowledge and understanding of software revenue accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Knowledge of NetSuite and SalesForce a plus
  • Ability to be flexible, learn, and work effectively in teams
  • Strong Microsoft excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, etc.)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
