Reston, Virginia – August 9, 2011 – Service provider Logicworks has chosen the ScienceLogic™ Inc. IT operations and cloud management platform to provide its enterprise managed hosting customer base with advanced monitoring options. New York-based Logicworks provides enterprise managed hosting and managed cloud solutions for mission-critical applications and content for clients including Dow Jones, Starwood Hotels, Radar Online, and Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.
“As enterprises with large-scale applications or content adopt cloud computing and managed services, the costs to properly monitor, analyze, and report on availability and performance become more challenging and more expensive,” said Stephanie Tayengco, vice president of network operations for Logicworks. “ScienceLogic will give us a holistic view of performance across our entire hosting infrastructure and alert us to the most critical issues facing our clients. The product’s comprehensiveness will enable us to pinpoint the root cause of potential problems more quickly and also help us identify trends before they turn into actual issues for us or our clients.”
The Logicworks Network Response Team and Operations Center engineers will be the main users of ScienceLogic, which will provide a 24/7 view into how they are providing services to end customers. ScienceLogic will also automate the provisioning of monitoring services for the Logicworks infiniCloud™ public cloud offering as well as Logicworks’ private cloud and enterprise managed hosting services. Logicworks Managed Database Services for hosted Oracle, MySQL, and MS SQL Server will also be enhanced by ScienceLogic.
These management and automation capabilities will free up staff time for more strategic projects, including using ScienceLogic to create an advanced server monitoring service and a more in-depthapplication monitoring offering for customers. In addition, the Logicworks Client Services Group will use ScienceLogic to deliver customized, automated reports that detail service levels and usage trends to clients, helping them have better visibility into their cloud and hosting infrastructures at Logicworks.
“ScienceLogic will be very attractive in retaining existing clients and winning new ones,” stated Tayengco. “The ScienceLogic automated reporting alone will enable us to better communicate our value proposition to clients using clear and measurable metrics to illustrate the level of service we provide. It will also allow us to make better recommendations based on each customer’s specific usage patterns helping us in our goal to be a proactive extension of their IT operations.”
“Logicworks is a success story in providing high-availability managed hosting and cloud solutions to clients that cannot afford any downtime or degradation in service,” said David Link, ScienceLogic CEO. “ScienceLogic provides Logicworks with a foundation for further success with its ability to create new revenue streams, offer differentiated services, and deliver exceptional customer service across virtual and cloud resources without the time and expense of integrating multiple management tools.”
CRN recently named Logicworks a Top 20 Cloud Infrastructure Vendor Of 2011.
